What do I need to do before you arrive?
Close all windows and doors. Place towels where you know or think water may leak, such as window sills, bathroom windows or the front door, and let us know about any existing leaks. Keep pets and family members or residents indoors away from the cleaning area, or arrange to go out for the day.
Move furniture and belongings indoors if you do not want them to get wet or dirty. Please leave clear access to the water supply and all areas being cleaned. Follow the team's instructions about when treated areas can be used again.
What is softwash?
Softwashing uses a lower-pressure application of a suitable cleaning solution to treat dirt and organic build-up, followed by rinsing where required. It can suit some painted walls, render and other exterior finishes where high-pressure cleaning is not appropriate. We assess the surface and its condition before choosing the method.

We use surfactants (soap) and sodium hypochlorite (bleach) at appropriate, calculated levels for the surface and treatment. Depending on the stain, we may also use specialist products such as acid-based cleaners, degreasers, wood cleaners or rejuvenators. Product selection and use follow the relevant label and safety instructions. Bleach is never mixed with acids or other incompatible products.
Pets, children and residents should stay indoors away from the cleaning area, or go out for the duration of the clean. Some treatments need time to work, so we may ask you to avoid treated pathways for around an hour or longer. Follow the team's specific instructions and wait for clearance before using those areas. If access is needed, speak to the team first.
Will pressure cleaning be used on my home's exterior walls?
The method depends on the wall material and condition. Suitable painted or rendered exteriors may call for lower-pressure softwashing. Flaking paint, cracks or other existing damage need assessment before any cleaning method is agreed.
